While making room for my new gifted bearmaking items, I have come across a few treasures that I forgot I had - this one is my favorite - a stash of antique mother of pearl buttons, some of them with beautiful etched designs. These buttons tell a story of days gone by and they make me smile!
Many thanks Janice:o)) Always nice when you find something you had forgotten about and those buttons look really nice, lucky you:o))
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a good day.
Hugs Lyn x
I'm excited for you to receive the mohair, Lyn! It's just as fun to give as it is to receive! Enjoy!

Buttons.... nice! Especially those lost & found ones. haha :)
ReplyDeleteI too enjoy digging my old boxes and sometime I do find long forgotten treasures which make me very happy to see them again!
Esther, I'm happy to hear I am not the only one who forgets about those hidden treasures! I have collected antique buttons and lace for so many years and then I forget about them - when they turn up again, I feel just like I did when I first purchased them only this time I promise myself I will use them on a current project instead of putting them away for another decade! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOooh, I LOVE buttons! Awesome find Janice! :0) A second happiness over hidden treasures:0) Happy day to you! xxx <3
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun, Christine?! I had a ball "cleaning" yesterday! Not the typical 4th of July but it brought me joy! Thanks to you! xoxo

I have loads of buttons - Victorian & Art Deco in a glass bowl (I swill them around every now and then hoping to disperse any dust which has landed!) I keep meaning to sort out some of them and sew them on velvet to put in a frame - but never get around to it!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lovely project!
