What fun I'm having getting sidetracked with creative outlets other than my bears! This time, I decided to give a go at making an altered bottle. I found this really amazing glass bottle with a stopper and as lovely as it was being clear glass, I wanted to see what it would look like painted. So, out came the trusty Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint and her clear and dark waxes, as well. After painting and waxing the bottle, I decided to add some vintage lace, millinery flowers, silk rayon ribbons and a pretty faux pearl and rhinestone brooch. The idea came from Pinterest (though I haven't seen any like this, there are plenty of altered bottles). I had so much fun, I plan to make more in a couple months (if I can find some unique bottles). I'm sure I will be able to find something at the local antique mall! Stay tuned, there may be more bottles to come. Back to the bears now ... I'm planning a small gallery October 1st - just around the corner! Have a wonderful evening! Hugs & Blessings, Janice

And here we have ... more pumpkins!
I have been having so much fun making fabric pumpkins that I decided to make another batch (or patch?!). This batch required more work and the embellishments were quite costly but the finished product is just what I had hoped for! The fabric came from a 93 year old lady's "stash" and was gifted to my Sister by her friend. My Sister sent me quite a bit but it's almost gone now! The fabric is raw hand woven silk from India. It is so unique with little nubby's of color throughout. I dyed the fabric with wine colored dye and then washed, rinsed and dried it in the sun. It came out a beautiful purplish/rusty color with wine undertones. One piece of fabric was pulled from the dye early and it turned out marine blue and burnt orange. Looks like Autumn - my favorite Season! Well, I guess it's time to get back to the bears. A gallery of four little ones will be coming on September 12th, so nose to the grindstone! Have a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend! Hugs & Blessings, Janice

Sidetracked Again!
This past week was one of those weeks where I got sidetracked and had so much fun! Last year at this time, I created a pumpkin patch from upcycled vintage wool clothing. It was so much fun, I decided to repeat the process this year - same fabrics, different pumpkins! There are four pumpkins left in my etsy shop. If you have a moment to stop by and peek at what is available, I would be most grateful! Here is a link ... Booh Bears etsy Shop - Upcycled Vintage Wool Pumpkins
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
